What is RSSDA Job Fair 2013?

The RSSDA Job Fair 2013 is a platform created by the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) in conjunction with the Ministry of Employment Generation and Empowerment for screened job seekers to meet with prospective employers and employment opportunities. As part of the State Government’s efforts toward tackling the scourge of unemployment in the State, the RSSDA Job Fair will create an enabling environment for youth empowerment and employment. The Job Fair is an avenue for employers from various sectors of the economy to meet and possibly interview a large number of job seekers with broad qualifications for immediate and future hiring needs.

Why should I attend the career fair?

  • Access to a large number of qualified candidates selected through a multi-level screening process.
  • Less expensive and efficient way to conduct dozens of short, informal interviews and recruit into vacancies in your organization.
  • Media exposure and advert opportunity in event brochure, and other marketing materials.
  • Personal contact with job seekers for better enlightenment on the hiring needs of companies.
  • Opportunity to promote your company as the desirable place to work; introduce and showcase new products and services.
  • Opportunity to make an impact in the host State.

What types of Job Seekers will attend the fair?

All graduates and professional degree holders who have gone through the RSSDA Job Fair Screening Process and are have been qualified to attend the job fair.

How many Job Seekers do you anticipate at the fair?

Over five hundred (500) pre-screened Job Seekers with broad qualifications are expected to attend the Job fair.

May I bring a display to the fair?

Yes; however, space is limited. The displays must fit on or behind a 6-foot table, so please be sure to discuss any special needs you might have for the fair with us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

How much does it cost to register for the fair?

This event is free for all employers and Job seekers.

How do I register for the fair?

Please visit our website to register. You may also complete our Employer Registration Form attached to your invitation letter and forward same to our head office located at #1, Igbodo Street, Old G.R.A., Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

When does Employer Registration end?

All registrations will end on Wednesday August 14, 2013.

What is the employer dinner?

The employer dinner is the job fair orientation for only employers designed to help them achieve maximum impact at the Fair. This valuable orientation will help employers:

  • Prepare for the Job Fair;
  • Gain tips for setting-up your booth;
  • Maximize your participation in the Job Fair;
  • Meet and interact with other employers.
The employer dinner will be held on Wednesday August 14, 2013 at 6 p.m. The venue will be announced in due time.

When can I bring my materials prior to the fair?

Ideally, we want recruiters to bring their materials on the day of the fair. If you have to ship your materials to us prior to the fair, please contact us for the special arrangement.

What is the tentative schedule for the day?

7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. - Employer Sign-in & Setup (employer breakfast will be available) 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. - Job Fair (employer lunch will be available from 1:00 2:00 p.m.)

How do we get to the event?

How many representatives from each company can attend the event?

Each company may have up to three representatives at the fair.

I didn't register; can I still come to the fair?

All recruiters must register for the fair in advance to attend the fair.

If I did not receive an invitation for the fair, would it still be possible for me to participate in the Fair?
